As a general rule, rooms and spaces that are not frequently used will only need mopping every other week or once a month. High traffic areas that are frequently used should be mopped at least once a week. If the space is used by pets or is regularly exposed to a large number of stains and spills, more regular mopping may be required.
If you’re cleaning a kitchen or food preparation area, floors should be mopped at least once a day - possibly even more frequently if multiple shifts take place in one day. A stricter schedule of regular mopping may also be needed in certain environments where infection control is a concern, such as hospitals, care homes and other healthcare facilities.
