Can you use all purpose cleaner on stainless steel?

182 views  October 21, 2019

All purpose cleaners can be a little too harsh for stainless steel surfaces, as durable and hard-wearing as this material can be. Always check the label before use, to see if the manufacturer recommends use on stainless steel or not.

Abrasive or aggressive all purpose cleaners can potentially damage the surface, leave marks or a ‘haze’ when dry. It is also recommended to avoid all purpose cleaners which contain bleach when cleaning stainless steel.

It is best to use a specialist stainless steel cleaning product on these surfaces, although glass cleaners can also be effective. You can remove stubborn stains with warm water, a soft cloth and standard dishwashing liquid, then polish the surface with glass or stainless steel cleaner until you have achieved a pristine shine.
